SYNOPSIS :
At 40, Jane – a broke and completely mad filmmaker – ends up back in her old bedroom at her parents’ house, determined to make her film about her brother who has recovered from cancer. Between a disastrous crowdfunding campaign, nightmarish Tinder dates, the ‘zen’ advice of her survivalist best friend and the scathing remarks of her family, she faces one mishap after another with a keen sense of self-deprecation. From the Cannes Film Festival to Los Angeles, Jane faces a string of disappointments, personal setbacks and absurd situations. In this organised chaos, where she talks to her cat and sees signs of destiny everywhere, Jane refuses to give up.
JANE SCHINASI
After three years of study at ESRA Paris and USC Los Angeles, supplemented by training in theatre, she turned her attention to film directing, developing a variety of projects including short films, music videos, adverts and corporate films. She then founded the NGO HUG BACK, through which she produced several socially conscious documentaries broadcast on various international channels. She has also directed several acclaimed projects, including Connectés, Rodin et Moi, The Slug and The Tiger’s Boxer, the latter having won awards at three festivals.
