As fires and urbanization threaten Bolivia’s forests, Rusber, a former street child turned animal caretaker, sets out to finish his veterinary studies while helping to relocate the monkey sanctuary run by his adoptive mother. Torn between his loyalty to her, his attachment to the monkeys, and his own desires, he seeks a fragile balance between care, confinement, and freedom, for them as well as for himself.
GASPARD RENAULT
After obtaining a degree in assistant directing in Paris, between 2009 and 2015 Gaspard Renault gained a wealth of professional experience in both fiction and documentary filmmaking.
Keen to hone his eye and his writing skills for the situations he wants to film, he began studying anthropology at Lumière Lyon 2 University in 2016.
